There are 2 types of drops, and an antibiotic cream. The tear drops are fine, but the antibiotic ones sting, and we had a one hour freak out this morning over them. When she was a baby, this was WAY easier, but now that she is 4 she is much stronger, and has a WAY louder voice....I think the neighbours think I am torturing her. My heart has broken for her too many times in the last 24 hours, and I just feel like I can't do this to her after all

she has been through. I know it is what is best and that this is what she needs, but it's killing me....any suggestions on how to make this whole drop process easier for her (and mom?).Thanks,Trish<a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/"><img border="0"

SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THIS...MY DAUGHTER IS 4 AS WELL AND HAS NOT HAD THE SURGERY AS YET --- NOT SURE IF I COULD DEAL WITH THIS...IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE. BUT, IT IS FOR THE BEST...you are in my thoughts as well as your little one - all I can say is, HANG IN THERE! ~Jentganam <tganam@...> wrote: Hi All,Caylie had surgery on the inner corners of her eyes yesterday. Hi Trish...

my Alice had 1st surgery on 13th in this month, (suspension) and

doctor treatments are the same. The first 3 days, I had no problem

in drops, but now ( and Alice is very little.. 5 1/2 months)it is

becoming really difficult... I can understand you, because when I

lie down Alice, and try to touch delicatly her eyes she starts

crying and became very complicated put drops in her eyes.

Now I try in this way: I lie down Alice, and place few drops fastly

on the inner corner of her eye and I wait for the time she opens her

eyes.In this way drops fall inside.

I really don't know if could be effective in your case. I hope.

I would like to thanks everyone for the encouragement and affection.

Wish you all have a wonderful Christmas and many love in the new

Year.

Hi Trish,

Glad you got to stop the drops for now. Micah doesn't

like it when we have to use those either. Someone (a

mom on here I think) did give me a good tip about the

ointment- put it in your pocket about 10 min before

you have to use it and it gets just warm enough that

it is MUCH easier to put in. I do Micah's at night

before bed and he gets to pick which eye we do first.

Somehow that makes it better. :)

Hugs,

April

Hi Trish, clare and emy from UK here - wow I remember this well!! we just felt dreadful, especially after all they have been through. The only we we dealt with it was via advice by my mother-in-law, (she has 5 children and 14 grandchildren) was just do it, no fuss, matter a fact, it has to be done and the more we fussed and worse the whole situation got. My daughter was 4 too, it is a really difficult age too, emy seemed too little to completely understand why and a lot stronger to fight us off. The other tip is too put it in the outer corner rather than in the middle, they dont watch it coming then. Good luck.....
