Guest guest
Oh ! Thank you SO much for your post. I've been wondering how Jordan did with his surgery, and my goodness, what a trooper!! I'm SO happy to hear how well he did and is doing today. All smiles?! YAY! I just love that smily picture of him. What a handsome little dude. Scary stuff having a collapsed lung though. I can't believe his eyes didn't swell shut either! What a strong & courageous little dude. He's still in my prayers. Keep us posted on his remarkable progress. The operation took a little over 4 hours and amazingly Jordan did not need to spend any time in the Intensive Care Unit. All of his doctors and nurses were amazed at his recovery. He was supposed to be very swollen and bruised but he never got more than just a little puffy. His eyes never swelled shut, which the doctors said they have never seen before. After 4 days he was ready to come home when he collapsed a lung from laying on his one side for so long so our stay was extended 3 more days while he got his breathing back up to par. We are thrilled with the results of the surgery. He looks a little better already (if you don't look at the baby enstein stitches) with his facial asyemetry going from 34mm to 26mm (still severe but an improvement) but the effect this has had on his development is amazing. Before the surgery he could not hold up his head, could not track objects with his eyes, didn't bring his hands together was more that a couple of months behind developmentaly. It has been 10 days since the surgery and he is now doing all those things and is less than a month behind. (EI was here today for his post-op evaluation). According to his CAT scan his brain expanded more than 2 cubic inches after the surgery. And he is a much happier baby too. I really think he was probably getting headaches from the pressure on his brain before. He hasn't stopped smiling since to operation. Even when he was full of IV's, drainage tubes etc he was still smiling and laughing. Thank you so much for every one who kept him in their prayers. He is a living testament to the power of prayer! ~~~~Mama to: 12-16-00Jordan(cranio, plagio & tort) & 2-21-03 BTW.. Guest guest
Well we went to the Dr's yesterday for Jordan 2 week check post surgery and it went really well. He looks GREAT. The stiches are dissolving and it is slowly healing. On the other hand we got some more news Jordan will be having Frontal Sling surgery on March 7,2006. I am really nervous about the Slings because I really wanted to use his muscle but the doctor said that they haven't done that surgery in 10years. So any input on the Frontal Slings Vs the Muscle? Also our Dr is retiring in June and so we will need to find a dr in Northern Calf. If anyone know one Please let me know. Thanks Crystal
