Confidentiality from the perspective of India

I was having some discussions about reasons why Indians were reluctant to

test and the issues of confidentiality.

I was immediately told that the definition of confidentiality we were

discussing was a western way of thinking about confidentiality.

What then is the south east asian definition of confidentiality?

How does it differ here. Perhaps there are some thoughtful people who could

advance some suggestions from an Indian perspective.
