Regarding 'Herbtab' drug controversy

The company claims that herbtab has passed the phase

III clinical trials at KEM Hospital, Mumbai.

It says: " Based on the traditional ayurvedic and unani

therapies, the drug had earlier passed phase II

clinical trials with no side effects. Following this ,

it has been cleared by the FDA (IS IT TRUE?) and also

recommended by ICMR (NOT REMEMBERING ANYTHING OF THAT

SORT). "

However, it is very careful in the claim: See this:

" As compared to the other drugs, this new Herbal

therapy is with no side effects and is working

differently by strengthening the immune system (THERE

LIES THE SECRET AND ITS ESCAPE ROUTE), which will thus

help the patients in leading a normal life.

Herbtab will be achieving this by enabling a

persistent increase in CD4 blood cells, which play a

vital role in the immune function of the body. "

It also claims " enhancement in hemoglobin levels from

10% to over 15% in 12 months; complete regression of

opportunistic infections; Decreased incidence of

contracting newer opportunistic infections No adverse

/ side effect even after continuous administration for

12 months. "

Lab is a company listed in the Mumbai Stock

Exchange and has been a poorly performing company with

about Rs 500,000 ($10,000) annual turnover a few years

back. See it is trying to emploit the market and poor

AIDS patients using the AIDS drug claims.

BEWARE, AND MAKE PROPER QUERIES

BEFORE BUYING OR RECOMMENDING THIS DRUG.
