Guest guest
Dear friends/listmates, In response to the 2 min. segment on the thimerosal/austim issue that I, my son, and our physician did for Channel 7 news (Detroit) last Monday -- I was informed that one of the large managed care organizations in SE Michigan and N Ohio -- Mercy Care -- "pulled" all vaccines for infants and toddlers containing thimerosal. The comment that I heard was that "in response to being flooded by phone calls from parents after the 5 o'clock news broadcast on thimerosal and autism, all clinics in the Mercy Care system were directed to remove all products containing thimerosal." Every microgram per kilogram counts!!! Sadly, I've also heard that the Michigan Dept. of Public Health is still using the DTaP (and possibly Hib and HepB) vaccines containing thimerosal. Any ideas on how to convince them that they should no longer administer these products? Thanks for your ideas. Guest guest
Wow, Vicky! Terrific! I think anything anyone can do to get the word out is great! I talked to our hospital administrator, also left Burton's opening statement with the lab ladies. Little steps, but important, I think. Barb [ ] Baby Steps...
