Programme in Kolkata will be used as model for red-light districts in the UK, British foreign office minister Ben Bradshaw said on Friday. He was impressed by the success of the Sonagachi Project for sex workers and their children. The project is funded by the department for international development of the UK government. " It is a model for the UK and the world. Britain has lot to learn form it, " he said. Sexually-transmitted diseases are on the rise in Britain. " The drugs used are strong and toxic, so the stress should be on prevention, " he said.
