Tumaini African Foundation

We are a youth group located in Soweto, Kayole slums. Having learned that most of the youth in the slums are the one targeted and involved in causing chaos, we have decided to take a constructive route. From Sunday the 6th Jan we are collecting materials that will support the people who are currently suffering due to the past political initiated suffering.

We have therefore started Operation Jenga Kenya Kataa Ku Destroy. The items we will have been able to gather shall therefore be brought to Nakumat on Wednesday afternoon. We are using Mkokoteni to go around the community of Kayole, Soweto, Savanna, Jacaranda Estate, and Patanisho. Please help to create the awareness. The same mkokoteni shall be used to bring the collections to the Red Cross points. We welcome you for this caravan that shall make the journey for the call of peace and dialogue

On Saturday we will have a tournament dubbed Operation Jenga Kenya Tournament. All the players will be required to pay a fee of 20 bob a ticket to play in the tournament. We invite you to please create awareness of this event. Registration is at Tumaini Resource Center, situated at Tujisaidie community premises. The matches will start as from 9:30am. The same point is working as a drop point for any assistance toward this noble course.

Thanks a lot.

Fundraising concert: NAIROBI, SUNDAY JANUARY 13th, CARNIVORE GROUNDS

The Reach Out concert will be a fundraising effort through which, with your help, we can achieve several objectives:

1) Help those displaced and affected by the election violence.

2) All gate proceeds from the show will be donated to the International Red Cross and Pamoja Youth Foundation to aid in the support of displaced persons due to election skirmishes in Nairobi.

3) Provide a platform where local artistes and participants can join hands in a single united effort to show the world that Kenya is united and peaceful regardless of ethnicity or political influences.

4) Provide an avenue for Kenyans to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts by direct donation to the International Red Cross, who will be on-site, and by donating blood through the Blood Donor Service of Kenya.

5) Regain a sense of normalcy where our city will regain its vibrancy. Please forward this mail to more people so they too can join hands and Reach Out to help our brothers and sisters in need. KENYA NI YETU!
