Guest guest Posted April 16, 2002 Report Share Posted April 16, 2002 VACCINE FOR AIDS TO BE TESTED IN INDIA Kalpana Jain, The Times of India, 04/11 A potential AIDS vaccine, known as a modified Vaccinia Ankara, MVA, has been identified for trials in India. The vaccine is supposed to fight the most prevalent HIV subtype C strain. The process of vaccine development began through a memorandum of understanding signed by the Union health ministry and Indian Council of Medical Research with the New York-based International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.
