Positive Steps Towards Involvement of The Civil Society For The Third Cycle of

Global Fund Application and National Strategy Building.

Dear Members,

There were series of meetings held in Delhi facilitated by NACO, UNAIDS and

other civil society members in an effort towards greater involvement of the

civil society in upcoming Global fund Cycle and also to facilitate active, and

ongoing involvement of civil society at the state and national level in National

Strategy Building.

Due to the limitation of time and resources, the meetings were small, yet

positive and productive. The civil society was assured that larger national and

state level consultations will be happening soon to involve civil society in

applying for the third cycle of global fund applications, in National Strategy

Building and in implementing the Global Fund Program if we receive money from

the second cycle.

We will be forwarding the details of these meetings in next two days through

India/Asia specific e-forums (SAATHII, AIDS-India and Sea-AIDS) and also through

various mailing lists (SAATHII NGO directory list, NACO NGO directory list etc).

The Indian government was open, positive and attentive and we strongly believe

that if both the civil society and the Indian government can continue this

momentum, it is very much possible to build the equal partnership between the

Indian Government and the Civil Society.

(We will also forward the names of the people and organizations that were

present at these meetings soon, so that you can reach out these individuals for

greater details of these meetings)

Best Regards in Positive Spirit

On behalf of the civil society members present at these meetings.
