Guest guest
Dear Tom and All, It's great to hear about all of your invaluable work with Deaf Impact Ministry, and we all hope that you and your family are slowly recovering some of your own joy and uplift, in the aftermath of the tragedy of losing your beloved baby, Barbara. You are still in our thoughts and prayers on that one, and we are with you in spirit. It's wonderful that plans are afoot by you, Tom Obiero (Lake Fellowship), and Hezekiah (Reachout) for a joint holiday party! In years past, KCA and some members of AIDS treatments have been active in helping to support this very worthy cause. I hope that we can do so again! It's a little unclear about the money-gathering process (re KCA) at this time, because our KCA secretary is actually in Kenya through Christmas, and I have therefore been trying to get clarification on our official KCA involvement. What I would suggest is that interested parties either send the money directly, or that some of us here in the Diaspora can talk among ourselves and decide how exactly we will gather and send money. If sending directly, I think Hezekiah usually picks the funds up for all of you, though you and Tom Obiero have picked up funds send by myself and others in the past. For Moneygram, which is cheaper than Western Union ($10 for up to $100-120 sent), all one needs is the same of the person (Hezekiah Nyaranga, Tom Ochuka), the country (Kenya), and to fill in the amount. You can send via Moneygram online now (www.emoneygram.com), either from a bank account (you'll need a credit-card backup for that) or by credit card. Once you send money, you'll get a " registration number " , which you have to log back onto the site to obtain (see under " past transfers " ). That is all the recipient needs (no test question) to pick up funds. Hezekiah is at reachout5@... and Tom Ochuka at tomochuka@.... There is not too much time left, so hope people are able to respond soon! Tom and all, I suggest that you not have the party till the week between Christmas and the New Year, to give people more time to send. With greatest thanks ( " Asante Santa " ) and blessings to all, and Happiest Holidays!
