This portal is the product of collaboration among various international agencies that focus on M & E for HIV-related programs, and its purpose is to serve you and other M & E professionals working in local, national, and global capacities. Registered members enjoy exclusive access to the collaborative areas of the portal in addition to the general access to the public areas of the portal. This free registration gives you access to : · Obtain free online workspaces for online collaboration · Contribute to discussion boards· Receive customized automated alerts about updates on the site · Meet the other M & E professionals in this community Register today at : www.globalhivmeinfo.org/admin/registration.aspx The Global HIV M & E Information portal houses best practices, toolkits, a calendar of conferences and training opportunities, and a compendium of HIV M & E resources in a digital library. It aims to be your definitive online gateway to HIV M & E resources, and it features the following functions:· Search the portal's M & E information on the basis of your preferences. You will be able to search the portal based on how you want your information filtered for example, by agency, by topic, guidelines only and many other options. The portal's appearance and organization were initially defined by user groups made up of M & E professionals from international agencies and organizations. From the launch onward, however, these aspects of the site, as well as content, will be driven by users like you, who will be routinely engaged via emails, surveys and independent submissions, for recommendations and requests for information to facilitate your work, as well as the work of others.· Read M & E-specific news from sources throughout the world. Use the portal to stay up to date on the latest HIV M & E information through such features as newsletters, automatic alerts and social bookmarking. You can also set up RSS feeds, which will email you with update on upcoming conferences, events, trainings and professional opportunities in the field of HIV M & E as well as the latest content added. · Search a range of sites for M & E-specific content. Quickly find informative content and tools by searching the portal or the digital library, or tap the wealth of information available on M & E-related sites throughout the Internet by using the portal's external search engine. If you're not sure where to search, you can simply choose to comb through all of these sites at once.· Collaborate online with other M & E professionals. Discuss various resources with your colleagues and rate the information available through the portal. You also can use the portal's team sites, where groups working in a particular area can share information, or you can access discussion boards for online conversations.The Global HIV M & E Information portal will be a medium for you to not only gain exposure to new M & E information, but also to market your work to the larger M & E community. The site promises to be ever evolving, routinely adding and updating content, and many international agencies are routinely updating their materials to ensure that the latest resources are available to you. This is a free resource for all HIV monitoring and evaluation professionals. You are more than welcome to use it to collaborate online as well as market the work you are doing. There are also collaborative spaces that can be configured to support whatever work you are doing. We are looking to provide exposure for M & E professionals, so if you would like to have your group, list serv, meeting, conference, training, work, etc highlighted - please just email admin@... and we can work on including your information. While this portal is geared towards HIV/AIDS, we are including everything that is deemed relevant to an HIV M & E professional. So please do not hesitate to send information that you would like to advertise. A small note: this web portal is a joint initiative driven by the United States Government Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and reaching out to multiple agencies and organizations.
