Guest guest
Dear Dr.I.S.Gilada, Greetings from Anbu Illam Charitable Trust (AICT), a community based organisation sero-positive individuals, initiated under the guidance of an organisation called Community Action Network (CAN) in the year 1996, working for positive women and children at Nammakal for the past 5 years and also for MSM for the past 1 year manned by staff well experienced in the field and Mr. Sekar the first Gay man in India to declare his seropositive status, has been running a drop-in centre for MSM in general , for the past 1 year. Anbu Illam has the required facilities in its drop-in-centre and raise funds through its own sources. However, its experiences have brought out the fact that there is a need to focus exclusive attention to positive MSM, whose needs are otherwise different and complex in nature. The phase of HIV intervention in Tamil Nadu has now stepped up its measures into care component after years of prevention interventions promoting high level of awareness among the population. Care component has got the precedence also because of increasing reported persons with sero-positives over the years. However, the care interventions programmes need on the part of NGOs/CBOs prior experiences and access to positive persons. It also requires NGOs/CBOs to have existing infrastructure at a significant level. In this regard we request you to kindly send us details of the discussions during the meeting to be held there on the 24th of January. Thanking You, Yours Sincerely, B.Sekar Founder/Director.
