Guest guest
Dear Forum members , The issue of being married for a HIV+ person has been raised for queit some time and the members are giving their valuable opinion about this.In vew of the above context let me give my opinion . First of al we have to keep it in our mind that what marriege is al about. It is basicaly the social contract of relationships between the two individuals in the society. Now if we try to prevent to establish the relationship by imposing some restrictions , we can only prevent the marriege but not the true relationships between those two individuals. In the history of our civilisation we have seen that no barrier could stop being married weather it is country to coutry, religion to religion, enemy to friend etc. Often we find a person is geting married to another person suffering from any acute illness because of their strong base on relationship . If a person carring HIV wil not be allowed to marry then what about those persons who are carrieng the virus of HBs, HCb or cancer and those who are the carriers of Haemophilia and Thalasamia. The medical science says that if HIV+ person get married to a HIV- person , they can remain like that throughout their life. Moreover one HIV+ person can esily get married to a HIV+ person and they can esily give birth to a HIV- child. Nowadays we are finding that young people are loosing their pertners because of AIDS and eventualy HIV+ people are coming forroward to marry them for their mutual benifits. So why to impose this kind of barrier, is it not better to leave this between those two individuals. Joydev Chatterjee. HIV Positive . Calcutta, West Bengal.
