Guest guest
Hello UpsNdowns, So we should support a Company who refuses to allow their employees to Unionize, just so they can continually underbid and under price the Mom and Pop Stores down the street or on the Corner of your neighborhood. Walmart gives you these prices at a cost, and the cost doesn't come out of their pocket or yours, it comes out of their employees pocket, or I should say it never enters their pocket in the first place. They are severely underpaid, just not in hourly wages but benefits also. They are treated like slave labor, but then why shouldn't they be, all the clothing they purchase is made in the Sweat Shops of South America. The Unions of the past built this Country, they fought long and hard to insure that laborers were treated fairly, received proper wages for their work, and the proper benefits for their non working retirement years. Unions are now declining, why, well its because the citizens of America only care about themselves. We only care about saving a buck here and there, we don't care about the fact that the Mother working the Cash Register at Walmart, works 8 hours a day, leaves there to go to her second job for another 4 or so hours just so she can make ends meet, just so she can pay high cost of child care and put food on her kids table. This is the problem, people and companies have become greedy, they want more bang for the buck. Not that anything is wrong with that, but it is destroying the strong principles that Organized Labor had fought so hard to provide. Its time that the people of this great Nation open their eyes and see what they are creating by their selfish ways. When Unions are gone, we will all be making minimum wage, working two jobs, and will have nobody to blame but ourselves. We are the ones who supported these anti-union slave labor Organizations and one day you or your children will be forced to work for one. So think about this the next time you buy a shirt that doesn't have the Union Made insignia on it. Think about what and the philosophies you are supporting, Think about the future you are building (or not building)for your children. Ill get off my soap box now! -- Best regards, Timbo Casten ZDC mailto:tcasten@...
