Mineral value??? Does this ring any bells with you all? >> This is superstition. It is supposed to prevent mercury from being reabsorbed. Since mercury isn't significantly reabsorbed this isn't necessary. It actually would have been helpful within the month or so following his shots. But not now. As you know it is readily available. >> Chlorella is a source of cysteine, or thiols. These stir the mercury up and make it much more toxic, and also redistribute it to the higher affinity tissues like the brain and liver and adrenal glands. They do not however increase its excretion. Guest guest
Andy, Thanks for the response! It seems to not matter how careful one is about picking, screening, questioning and scrutinizing a doctor's ideas, in the end you can't be sure. I do lots of research (like many parents) and there still is so much room for error. Costly error if I had just taken his word for it. I'm glad all my internet sources are out there to learn from. So lets run his other " advice " by you..... Begin adding Pectin (like what is used in jams) and Agar (I think used for thickening) to as much of my sons food as I can. Guest guest
<< So mercury is not significantly reabsorbed? I'm lost can you explain? >> Inorganic mercury is not very well absorbed from the intestinal tract. 5/7 of the inorganic mercury your kid excretes goes into the bile which flows from the liver into the intestinal tract. The mercury stays there (rather than being reabsorbed into the body) and is then pooped out. Andy

But I do know the most important thing with any toxin is to figure out where it is coming from and stop the exposure - THEN worry about detox.
