Kathy,

My advice would be to come off of the oils unless you know the exact

balance. My 6 year old son starting taking clo and epo and then we started

to notice him flinching in his sleep, seizure type movements. I have an eeg

scheduled , hoping there isnt any consistent seizures as there may be, but it

has stopped since i took him off, I think that if you dont know the proper

ratios, it lowers the seizure thresh hold.

My son, also 3, has had a similar change. He hasn't been biting or pinching, but he has been pushing other little kids and hitting us with various toys. It's not all of the time, but it's unpredictable. I don't know what's causing it. If you find out, please let us know.

[ ] Sudden Aggression in 3-Year-Old-HELP!

My almost 3-year -old son never exhibited any signs of aggression before, but, lately he has gotten into the habit of biting and pinching family members? Has anyone else had similar experiences? Any ideas on what could be causing this and what we can do?

Thanks,

-are you using anti-virals? Both valtrex and famvir had the

same effect on my son. Also, are you givng CLO? Some report similar

effects with too much CLO or CLO out of balance with other fatty

acids.

My son will start having seizures if he has too much CLO. Try first

balancing it with EPO (evening primrose) for a few weeks then

go back to CLO, that made some differences for me

Ann,

Yes, we are using CLO. We give him 2 capsules of the Kirkman's CLO every day. Is that too much?

Kathy,

How much CLO and how much evening primrose-i.e., what kind of ratio? Also, should they be given together or at different times of the day?

Thanks.

Doesn't CLO increases possibility of seizures in sucepted

individuals? It lowers the seizure threshold.

It could be a new supplement that you have added. Or it could be the " typical " change that happens with Autism. Some kids as they get older (3-5) do begin to show more signs of aggression. It is my experience that it corresponds to something going on within him. Diet, viral, ears, bowels....it can be a major guessing game. While you hunt try to remember the more you respond to being hit/pinched the more the behavior seems to go up. Generally speaking our wonderful kids are reinforced even by negative attention.

If you want to post me privately I will try to help you come up with some strategies while you look for the biomedical cause.

The best evidence I have seen on this is that these are the children who

don't make enough cortisol. When they experience stress and don't have

enough cortisol reserve around they become aggressive and mean. Reducing

stress helps, adrenal support (e. g. B5) helps and licorice helps.
