Guest guest
I got to see him for a little bit yesterday. He did seem a tiny bit more alert, and I didn't hear that horrible high pitched scream for the brief time I was there. He is however, still rather frail and his color was still not normal. I am hoping that this suspected heart damage hasn't been harming him severly. I told my sister that no matter WHAT this PedCardio says next week, she HAS to get a second opinion. This man was recomended by the MORON that gave him the shots in the first place. I told her to get the baby to Columbia Presby in NYC or Mt.Siani. Get the baby to an experienced doctor in a reputable hospital. If you have to live in rags and eat nothing but stale bread so you can afford it, that baby HAS To come first and HAS to get top quality help. He did smile at me yesterday, for a second anyway. I took it as a small thank you from him to me, for trying to get his mommy to see the light. I love thatr little boy like he was my own, and I have been where my sister is, and I know what she is going through, She has the fear of disease and the fear of harm and action from CPS weighed against the fear of further damage to her precious baby. ~Em~ Attached, Non vaxing, Non-spanking, Gently Guiding, Co-bedding SAHM to my miracle daughter, Sophie Joyce 9/8/00-Will be home-schooled! Guest guest
This sounds like depression to me....... If there is a custody issue, I assume the little boy has been separated from his parents. I think this alone would cause some overt attention deficit problems, just to put it into modern day lingo. He's probably becoming withdrawn and just given up due to a situation he cannot cope with. And I think if the doctor looked deeper, he'd find a child who has adrenal glands that are not functioning optimally due to the stress. Afrer all, he's only 6. Maybe you have to scare your parents into NOT giving medication. There are paper reports on ADD drugs like Ritalin causing heart attack s in children A quick google should come up with some newspaper articles.. Guest guest
Hi Vida, Maybe you could tell your parents that a recent study was released on children suffering from this condition. The study involved medicated/unmedicated children. The medicated children advanced during the first year only, but at the end of 5 years fell further behind the children who were not medicated. All the medications used to " treat " ADD stunt brain growth also. My son suffers from this condition and what I've learned is that ADD usually goes hand in hand with other learning disabilities. Have them consider referring for an IEP/Special Education Services. I hired an advocate to fight for placement in one. > > Hi guys, I posted not too long back that my 6 year old nephew was > having problems in school and that he was becoming more and more > physically and mentally slow, in thinking and response time. Guest guest
I agree with the depression, or some form of acting out based on his situation. Good idea to scare them about the medications. They probably won't look at the alternatives otherwise. Oh, and Ritalin and the like also stunt growth. Any chance you can ask if you can at least be humored about giving him fish oil? That isn't much of an effort to do, like changing the diet would be.
