Hi listmates,

Just finished up week one of chelation for Mike (AS -12). He did pretty

well...we will be ramping up to a higher dose the next week on, so we might

see more side effects then. We saw just some lethargy and maybe a fever.

Hard to tease that out because he had really bad swimmer's ear at about day

5..by day 7 he had the fever. Today was day one of " off " and we were able to

get into the ENT for check up. He said bad swimmer's ear and Mike asked him

about the fever and he said probably from that. Too bad the ped we saw on

Friday didn't know what he was doing. By the time we got into ENT today

Mike's ear was so swollen they had to wick it in order for us to get the

drops in the ear! The ped was a sub for my regular ped and believe me I

will never go to him again. I knew he was off his rocker when he said he

didn't really know what it was then proceeded to give me antibiotics and ear

drops(covering both bases so I knew he didn't know!). Anyway, the drops had

thimersol in them so I wasted my money on that. Needless to say I didn't

give it to him! The ENT is much more progressive and understands why I don't

want thimerasol..he even checked his samples to make sure what he wanted to

give Mike didn't have any thimerasol in it! He also said throw away

antibiotic..so basically I wasted a bunch of money on Friday urghh!!!

Improvements after the first cycle would have to be a small improvement in

perservative speech! Maybe that will improve some more. He also seems less

anxious.

We will not start chelation on (my 8 year old ADHD) until we get those

amalgams out!

I'll keep the group posted!
