SAMe + DMSA/LA at same time?

Hi all,

We have done one round of DMSA, and expect to continue, then add ALA.

Our son's antimony levels are off the charts, and we would like to

use SAMe to remove this metal. Question is can we chelate w/DMSA and

ALA, while also using SAMe? Or is this too much at once? Any advice

for how to go about getting mercury and antimony out in a reasonable

fashion/timeframe?

Thanks so much,

Amy

I know some folks were asking Andy about using TMG which turns into SamE,

and Andy said it would be fine. (If I'm remembering correctly.) About a

week ago, someone quoted another doc as saying TMG might not be good with

the LA because of methylating qualities? So we dropped the TMG for a while.

Barb

I missed the earlier thread about TMG/antimony. Does

DMG have the same effect ?

Our son's recent hair analysis showed high mercury,

bismuth, arsenic, antimony, aluminium and titanium but

we have yet to start chelation. We upped his ascorbic

acid from 500mg to 1000mg and he has been a little

spaced out the last few days staring into the middle

distance. What I forgot is we switched from DMG to TMG

on Wednesday which if it chelates antimony may explain

his behaviour. We giving TMG one tspoon per day, does

it need to be more regular as in mercury chelation ?

Any ideas ?

My kid was high in antimony also and I thought TMG might be a good way to

supply SAMe so I checked with Kirkmans on how much TMG turns into how

much SAMe. The answer was 1000 mg of TMG would end up making about 150

mg of SAMe.

I also read the TMG concern about methylation. I'm pretty sure Jane

El-Dahr posted that concern. What I have been doing is on my off-DMSA

week, I supplement the TMG per the label on the (Kirkman) container....

Not completely sure this is the best way to go, but seems good so far.

Good luck,

Chris
