Guest guest
[This is in response to the posting from: " Air Mshl L K Verma " <laljee@...> on proposed NACO Accredition of Labs] In Melbourne infectious biomedical waste is treated with the utmost care and special disposal methods are in place. One would almost think the vehicles are carrying bullion such is the care taken to prevent contamination and cross infection. Such would need to be the case here because of increased numbers in the population but the process does not need to be re-invented because it is already mapped. Colour coded disposal containers, disposable without being emptied, carefully transported to a specially designed location is all mapped. It simply needs replication on a scale appropriate to India but I agree the disposal is as important as the accreditation standards and they should all be part and parcel of the processes of accreditation.
