Questions on Supplements During Chelation

Hi everyone...I have exciting results to report and I hope somebody

out there can help me with some questions. We just finished my 4

year old son's first round of DMSA chelation (every 4 hr. dose) last

Wednesday. He is seriously lead and antimony poisoned, and I think

mercury is lurking in there as well.

First, the exciting part...after just one round, we're seeing

exciting progress...better social relatedness, much better use of

language, more colloquial type of speech, better responses to

questions, much richer types of play...the list goes on and on. Hope

I don't sound too giddy, but I've got to admit that we are thrilled!

Now for the questions....I know Andy says you should continue all the

supplements while chelating, but I spoke to one DAN doc yesterday who

said you should NOT supplement minerals (calcium, magnesium, zinc),

because the chelating agent will bind to these as well and therefore

you will have LESS chelating agent available to bind to the stuff

you're going after. Got to admit that it made some sense to

me...does anybody have any ideas? Also, somebody recently posted

that Dr. El-Dahr recommends AVOIDING TMG, DMB and NAC while on

chelation because they may " remethylate " the nasty stuff and let the

body reabsorb it. Anybody have any thoughts on this one?

If anybody has any ideas, I'd really appreciate hearing them. Thanks

in advance! , mom to & Zara
