Guest guest
Moderator Thanks for inviting me to join the group. Still I am intrigued by the fact how you came to know me and how am I got included in this list. Anyway, Thanks for that. I am working in the field of HIV and actively involved in the treatment of patients in HIV. For two years I worked in Nepal and we had largest number of HIV patients in Nepal. Regarding HIV vaccine: I attended the " International congress of Immunology " held in New Delhi in Nov 1998 when preliminary discussion regarding AIDS vaccine in trial started. I want to bring the fact that there are many clades of HIV virus in circulation like clade A and B which are common in US and Europe and Clade C and D which are common in Thailand and India respectively. The vaccine which has been developed on the basis of trials on one clade cannot be tried in a society which has a different clade in circulation. I would like to know - How the vaccine has been developed. Secondly if the trials are also starting in US simultaneously or not.
