BBC World Service and All India Radio, Lucknow, have tied up to broadcast a new weekly Hindi phone-in programme, " Chat Chowk " , from April 21 to create awareness about AIDS among the masses. The programme to be broadcast ever Sunday at 1700 hours, in collaboration with National AIDS Control Organisation and up State AIDS Control Society, would allow people from Lucknow and across the State to seek clarification and voice their opinion on the subject. The programme would also feature competition, latest Indi-pop songs and celebrity interviews. BBC's executive producer in India Gill termed the partnership as the first big step in the new media project for AIDS prevention. The tie-up for AIDS programme follows successful partnership between AIR and BBC World Service for a leprosy programme in the State, AIR station director here S.K.
