Dear Friends,

.... 41.7% sample never used condoms in their sexual acts, even though they

knew condoms prevent HIV infection. Majority of the males are infected

through sexual route, while most of the females are infected with HIV from

their husbands. Many of the male subjects are sexually active and still

maintain multiple sex partners. All of the subjects are either from low or

middle socio-economic status and financially constrained in treating their

disease. High rate of infection among housewives who had sex only with their

husbands can be an indicator of the fact that the infection is spreading

rapidly to the general community. The epidemic continues to shift towards

women and young people. This also adds to mother to child HIV transmission

and pediatric HIV...
