Language: Hindi Venue: Delhi Date: 22-26 October, 2002 Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST),New Delhi is going to organise a regional workshop with organisations working in North India in the states of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. The workshop is being sponsored by UNIFEM. It will seek to bring together a number the middle level and grassroots workers from a diversity of organisations working at grassroots. The workshop will help the concerned organisations to understand the importance of including HIV/AIDS and its gender dimensions as a part of their organisational agenda and also build capacity at the individual level. The core issues for discussion will be as follows: 1. Basic facts about HIV/AIDS and the situation in India. 2. Gender, HIV/AIDS and understanding of vulnerability of women. 3. Discrimination, stigma, legal rights, ethics and counselling. 4. Public health, care and prevention of HIV/AIDS. 5. International and Government policies.
