I have heard this information about cancer incidences in DS. FWIW just to vent a bit, it outrages me that individuals with DS could very well hold the key to actually curing cancer while at the same time their lives are given absolutely no value by the ACOG and others like them. I understand that they continue to be oblivious to the other many and great contributions people with DS make to society, but you'd think they could relate a little bit more to this and not continue on their DS seek-and-destroy mission, but no. Arghhhhhhhh!
