Dear Forum subscribers,

Panos India, a division of Panos South Asia, has undertaken to document

political advocacy initiatives in HIV/AIDS in India for UNAIDS.

This project will look at national and state-specific efforts on political

advocacy in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Maharashtra and

Delhi.

The report may highlight some case studies to illustrate different types of

advocacy, or advocacy done on different subjects related to HIV/AIDS.

Reports of work done in this field, comments and suggestions are invited. We are

also looking for responses to questions such as :

What do you think of current political advocacy efforts on HIV/AIDS -- at the

national level and in these six states?

Are they appropriate to our needs?

What are their limitations?

What subjects need be taken up through political advocacy related to HIV/AIDS?

We would like to follow up on some of the reports through face-to-face

interviews over the next six weeks.

Hence, an early response is appreciated.
