VII National Convention Of IN N : Lessons Learnt :Coping HIV/AIDS in India

(1986-2003)

It is a great pleasure for me, to bring you the message of the VII National

Convention of IN N to be held from 26th to 28th February 2003, at Madurai, Tamil

Nadu. The host for the VII National Convention is IN N member, Madurai Mission

Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai.

Last year in 2002, IN N had its convention in a state with low prevalence rate

of HIV infection, at Orissa, and this year IN N is moving towards one of the

high HIV prevalence states of India - Tamil Nadu. Our learning process is

continuing and the experiences from both these states will be shared at this

convention. Moreover, the convention is going to be in the Temple City and in

reference to HIV/AIDS, it has its own unique experience to share. IN N is trying

to get resource persons from countries with high HIV prevalence rates. We would

like to learn from their experiences and how they have been working for

mitigation of the spread of the disease in their respective countries. The

theme of the VII National Convention of IN N 2003, is, Lessons Learnt :

HIV/AIDS in India (1986-2003) .

Like previous years, this convention anticipates the support from NACO, UNAIDS

and UNICEF, UNFPA and other organizations.
