Guest guest
Question for everyone. My endo has been occassionally giving me a Cosatropin (sp) Stimulating test to help determine if my pituitary was still functioning. The problem is that the results sheet doesn't really tell you if you are normal or high or low it just says in normal increments of 8. The way the test works is I have a baseline blood draw then given a shot of cosatropin then blood draw at 30 and 60minutes post shot. My results in the past have been Base line 30minutes 60 minutes 16.5 29 24.2 8.3 25.0 16.6 8.0 12.5 8.4 on three seperate occasions. AFter the last results I was told I need to start replacing cortef which I have. On Monday I will be heading in for my yearly appointment and I know he is going to order a stimulating test because he told me to hold my cortef so I was kind of wondering if anyone had any personal results that they could compare to this and tell me what kind of numbers I should be seeing should I truely be cortisol dependant. Basically I am wondering if there is a magic number that you should spike up above after the shot if your pituitary is working. I know when I was given the stimulating test for GH I knew if I didn't spike over a 10 or 12 it meant I needed GH. Is there a magic number for this test as well. Thanks Sara
