Guest guest
Hello dear people, I have been reading the posts recently about M.S. (I suffer from this condition too) and mercury. I'm sure there is some connection, but mercury is not the only toxic substance that can create problems for the immune-system. My personal opinion is that there are some herbs (curcuma, ginger, garlic etc.) that have anti-inflammatory qualities, and thus they are useful. But as a treatment for M.S. they are limited in effectiveness. I am searching myself for several therapies that can (together) work on the whole, as a holistic approach. Therefore it will have to include: 1) detoxification of cellular and tissue toxins 2) building up good bowel flora 3) getting rid of toxins in food: no additives such as sugar, coloring etc. 4) staying away from saturated fats (max 7 gr./day) 5) adding fish oil to the diet or a-linoleic acid 6) maybe good colon-cleanse 7) ozon- treatment. Myself I do have problems with ingesting a lot of ozonated water, it creates pain in my stomach....and diminishes the acidity, and digestive power ( I lose weight if I take for instance 1 liter or more a day) A chinese medicine practitioner even told me that the WORST thing I could do in my condition is drink COLD WATER!! It's said to make you more yin. So far I have not found a good alternative for this problem; ozonated olive oil may be a good option? What about the ozon-sauna; also a bit of a problem with M.S. because we are always warned not to go in too hot area's. Considering the arthritis; it does help me for that, only the M.S. gets worse if I go in hot sauna. In Holland we can get special cooling-packs for people with M.S. So to go in a hot sauna is completely opposite to that. Can someone give me some reply or reaction to this? Guest guest
Dear Cath, The ozonated water does not have to be cold if you drink it immediately. We routinely put MS people in the ozone sauna. You have to keep the temperature down, but moderate heat is not a problem. I have never seen information on saturated fats and MS. Do you have any? Best of Health! Guest guest
Dear Saul, I still have a problem with the ozone sauna after being in 40 degrees; I get of lot of tingling and nerve pain the next day. Also I do not sleep well after taking a sauna. I wonder if this is realy a safe way for treatment. At this time in the month it may be wiser to stop doing it because I always have a flare-up before menses. Also whenever I eat small amount of saturated fat(butter) I get flare-up. Also many people with M.S. have strong reactions to certain foods (allergens like eggs, milk, wheat etc.) When ozonated water is not cold, it doesn't absorb the ozone very well, so I do not experience result from it. When I feel a little bit better I can send you some info on saturated fat and M.S. but you can also look up info at Dr. Mc.Dougall. All M.S.-people are warned for saturated fats but there are also people from the raw-food movement that warn for taking too much unsaturated vegetable oils. It's said to depress the immune-system. I wonder if it is useful for me to take corticosteroids together with doing ozone, just to keep inflammations under control.? all the best to you! Guest guest
Hi Cathalijne. I thought heat was contraindicated with MS - makes it worse??? Bromelain is good for inflammation, in case that is of interest. Look up " multiple sclerosis " is the index and you'll see all the pages that refer to that condition. Far infrared is the best heat source to use...it penetrates the body at low temperatures and the body can learn to sweat. Guest guest
Dr. : I have a patient and dear friend that has reversed her symptoms and maintains a healthy life by doing a number of things. It's all about the mind body connection and (As Dr. Chestnut would say) Eating Right, Thinking Right and Moving Right. She got on a regular yoga schedule to reduce her stress, did a number of tests with her Naturopath to find out what her food and environmental sensitivities are (I think they did an blood test) and stays away from them, then she connected with an MD in the UK that has a protocol he put together, cause he's got MS himself. It consists of vitamins and lots of various oils. He has a little book out called, " My fight against Multiple Sclerosis " , by Dr. MacDougall. You and/or your patient can do one of two things (or both for that matter) contact my patient, she's very open and willing to sharing her story. (email me directly and I will put you in contact) Also the US connection for this information or Dr. MacDougall's is a company called Regenics, Inc in Ohio and their number is (419) 756-2994. Seriously my patient is a remarkable woman in her 50's and she was diagnosed over 30 years ago. She is amazing and would be delighted to talk to your patient and you for that matter. She lives here in Portland. Guest guest
Sara, I've done a LOT of research on this.....I got interested in it years ago because my then neighbour had it. There's a LOT that can be done but it requires open-mindeness, a personality trait with which you are blessed but not the case with everyone. Unfortunately my then neighbour was told 'no cure' by a trusted doctor (her husband who sinc divorced her because of MS :-(() and she believed nothing else after. I have no idea what happened to her but I did try. There is a strong environmental factor to MS, which is 'latitude'....Vitamin D and recognized by conventional medicine (the highest rates of MS are in rain-driven Scotland!) ....Also Owens on the Sulfur Stories has a recovered friend (personal correspondance). There are a LOT of similarities between Autism and MS. (This does not mean that people with autism will get MS.....so don't panic) I have a file with lots of scientific abstracts on MS here. Give me till after Jan 13 and I can help you with this. x Sara Moroza- schrieb: > > Hi, > Does anyone know anything about treating multiple sclerosis?
Guest guest
Hi Sara, When I was doing hbot with ds at the MS centre in Coventry, I quizzed a lot of the people with MS there. HBOT doesn't help everyone, but it helped a LOT of them, some of them incredibly. There aren't MS centres in Canada that I know of, but there is reasonably priced HBOT in both Calgary and Edmonton. The man who owns those centres is very kind--ds and I dove there before coming to the UK. Here is the link http://www.canadianhyperbarics.com/ I would also concur with about the vitamin D. In Alberta, you can only make vitamin D 6 months of the year, probably much like the UK, because the sun is too low in the horizon. There is a link between ms and mercury toxicity. One of the women I spoke to at the MS centre who didn't respond to HBOT felt that her problems had started after a great deal of dental work. She didn't realize at the time that mercury was in her amalgams. Plus she had had I think 3 root canals, which are whole set of problems on their own. Definitely trying to reduce the toxic load/exposure should help. You're a good friend to try to help.
