I had Cpox when I was 7 months old (my 2 older siblings shared it with me!)

Over the years, I have been around my own 2 children and several neighbor

children who had it and have never gotten them again. So, I don't think that is

true about not being immune to Cpox if you've had them before age 1.

My daughter had them twice. She had them the first time at 10 months

old (still breastfeeding) and then again last year at 3 years old.

Last year was much worse. At 10 months it was mild. Whether it was

because she was under a year or not I don't know.

I was pregnant with my son when she got them last year and the doctor

said as long as I had had them before it wasn't a problem. I had the

chicken pox as a child and we did the titer test (just in case). It

showed I was immune. I don't know anything about the reliability of

those tests. But in any event, my son was born perfectly healthy...

until his first shots.

I was exposed 9 seperate times before I actually got them in 6th grade....and

then I went to school for 5 days after I broke out because my mom thought I had

some sort of allergic reaction....

ages 13 1/2 months and 4 1/2 years.

I, my sister and 2 of her playmates all got cp at the same time, I was less

than a year old, they were all 3-4yrs - we all also got shingles at different

times as children. I had them when I was 12 and it was awful.

Well, this appears to be another thing no one talks about because they

think it is normal.

IT IS NOT normal. I never EVER saw shingles in a child or a teen in my

pediatric nursing years 1971 - 1978!

NEVER! It WAS a disease of old, debilitated people or people with cancer,

or people under severe stress. It is a sign of immune system problems.

And of course oyu all have been vaccinated far more than any children I saw

at that time.

HOw many more of you. I haven't heard any of you mention this before. How

many more.

Did you get them after you got another vaccine? Any idea?

The doctor that finally realized/believed it was shingles blamed it on stress in

my case, I don't know what they said about my sister having it (other than that

kids never get it etc...), she had it a few years before I did, not as severe.

I don't think any vaxes were scheduled for 12 year olds back then but I don't

know

for sure. I had a tetanus booster about 4 years earlier, but other than that...?

My daughter was 11 or 12 when she came down with shingles - she had chicken

pox at age 2 1/2. My mom is the only other one in our family ever to have

had shingles, but I don't know when she got them (she's almost 63 now). She

did mention that they were extremely painful, but my daughter's case was so

mild that she doesn't have a clear memory of it. She DOES remember the

doctor getting in my face during that particular visit, accusing me of child

abuse, because I wouldn't vax my then 1-year-old daughter against chicken

pox.

The daughter who came down with shingles unfortunately had the full run of

vaccines with the exception of pertussis at that time in her life.

Pertussis was excluded because our eldest had a serious reaction to the

shot. It was at that time that I began researching and learning about

vaccinations, and later refused all future vaccinations. Unfortunately, the

father of my eldest two had the rest done without my consent after our

divorce. My oldest daughter is now researching to see if the sudden onset

of her suicidal depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and other problems

coincide with the HepB vaccine that he also had her injected with as a teen.

My unvaccinated daughter has had one ear infection in her 5 years on this

earth, whereas the other two had numerous infections. She's healthier,

stronger and smarter than any other child her age that I know. There have

been two recent cases of chicken pox in her daycare, both in vaccinated

children, but she has yet to contract it.

I didn't know that shingles used to be an adult disease. I'll be interested

to read more information on this.

My doctor too, once they figured out what I had, said I got the shingles

because of stress. It wasn't until years and years later that I realized

shingles was connected with cpox. I had the shingles a few weeks after

playing with my cousins who had cpox at the time. I believe I was probably

about 12 at that time.

Yes, of course it can..........have you taken her to a homeopath?

It really could help immensely. I see case after case in the ones we study

in school of similar situations and FAST improvement ni so many cases

It really isn't a 'disease' - it is something that happens - we never

considered it a diseaase. We considered it a complicaiton of stress or

depressed immune system. From a homeopathic perspective, would be similar

but treated very differntly.

I'm encouraging her to see a homeopath now (she's 18) for general health and

also because she's starting to lose her hair. Luckily, she weathered that

particular storm and is doing better, despite the antidepressants that they

pumped into her (she quit taking them early on because she didn't like what

they were doing to her).

I was led to believe that it was a recurrence of chicken pox in a different

form. (By the doctor that screamed her misinformation at me, of course.)

My GP has been very supportive of us using natural means and avoiding

medical/chemical interventions, but I recently looked at your homeopath list

and located one in our closest town. Thanks for providing this information!

Had a young womean who traveled with me this summre with her mom. Similar

- bipolar, on MEDS bad ones, hair starting to fall out, on BCP's because

meds would deform any baby...........depression.........

She has got to see a homeopath. THis will NOT improve on its own or from

just stopping the meds. There is too deep a disturbance now. If she wants

My husband had shingles during a stressful 3 days at work and driving a bus on

an emergency basis, We haven't seen them again. He was 23 at the time. I thought

he was getting c-pox at that age when I saw the outbreak. His dad iagnosed over

the phone. We treated it like c-pox with caladryl lotion but not the anti-virals

which were prescribed locally...those made him even worse, vomiting and

diarrhea...after only 2 doses, we disposed of them down the toilet.

Did you get them after you got another vaccine? Any idea?

I'd like to add 2 of my children had gotten CP after they were 1 and then

contracted it again. The second time around they seemed to get their

immunity as the third time CP hit in our house they did not get it. When

they were with their 2nd time, my 10 mo and still bf son had his first

go'round and that was his immunity as this last round he did not get it. I

have also read a few people NEVER develop immunity for some reason.

(something about babies that have them before the age of 1 not
