Mukti releases 3 commercial ads on AIDS

Mukti - A Smita Thackeray Foundation is an NGO, which needs no

introduction ever since its establishment. Mukti has been working on

social action project dealing with Aids Awareness, Drug Abuse, Child

and Women Welfare in the state of Maharashtra.

Mukti has over the last 6 years focused on AIDS awareness by

hosting 'The Annual AIDS Concert'. The Biggest Concert on AIDS, in

the city of Mumbai, Mukti has been hosting seminars and workshop on

AIDS awareness and perils of Drug Abuse in schools and college. It

has garnered the support of Top Film artist, Sporting Icons and

celebrities to endorse this social cause.

This year Mukti has produced Three Ad commercials; it educates the

masses on the misconceptions towards HIV victims. The prime message

behind these commercials being 'Prevent AIDS, Accept AIDS, Fight

AIDS'.

The first ad commercial features Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who has always

lend his support and co-operation to the Mukti Foundation since its

inception. The ad shows Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who has employed an HIV

infected as his personal driver, interact with him, just as any other

normal person without any discrimination. Morale being if Mr.

Bachchan can do it, why can't we?

The second ad commercial features Waheeda Rehman, playing the part of

a Mother-in-law, who accepts her bahu after the society, deny her for

being HIV Postive.

The third ad features Akshay Kumar, who has also always supported

noble causes undertaken by Mukti in the past years. Akshay Kumar has

a small friend Bunty (HIV Positive) takes him to see his movie, play

with him, spends time with him, as Akshay feels that Bunty is his

best friend, and he finds no harm giving him the love and care.

The message from these 3 commercials is loud and clear, " Acceptance,

understanding and support " to an HIV victim. Mts. Smita Thackeray,

Chairperson - Mukti Foundation states " Producing these films have

given me a lot of satisfaction, these films aims to reach all levels

of our society and make them understand that if someone has AIDS,

Accept him in our society, help him, treat him with love and

understanding, this is the positive attitude the society should take

towards an HIV victim. "

Mrs. Smita Thackeray quotes " The special thing about these 3 AD

commercials is that I have featured real life HIV infected. Being HIV

positive is not a stigma. These HIV infected have voluntarily come

forward to the cause, as they are confident that together with us,

they can make an effort to change the attitude of people around " .

Percept Picture Company has handled the co-ordination and direction

of these film Mr. Shailendra Singh of Percept Advertising has been a

great supporter of Mukti Foundation from the beginning. Percept

Advertising has always been Mukti Foundation partner in its social

action projects. These films will be aired on all major satellite

channels and theatres. So go watch it and adapt a change in the

attitude we look at an AIDS Victim.
