Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with Nextel Direct Connect Springfield As a special needs parent in Illinois, I would like any legislator of either party to answer this question. Why should any special needs parent vote for people who year after year, including coming up in 2012, cut funding in a state which is 48th in the nation in funding for human services, behind in its payments to service providers and have few ideas and solutions of any substance ready for the floor in Springfield and still run away from solving the most obvious budget problems and biggest cause of why the most vulnerable get the shaft in Springfield year after year and funding and programs get cut? Pensions and Healthcare! Answer that question for me please. I would love to hear the answer. My thoughts after listening and participating in a town hall of my state rep. from the 56th district last night. Thanks Mike Baker
Guest guest
My line in the sand is drawn with these legislators. I'm all for paying taxes for pensions every year, but get rid of the all of the abuses in the pension and healthcare systems and start helping people like my family. My sons been on the PUNS list since age 2. He's 13 years old with autism. Still on the waiting list/ Makes me furious with these people who smile at you, say they are for your interests on one hand and cut funding and services with the other. They have not heard the last from me. Mike Baker Springfield As a special needs parent in Illinois, I would like any legislator of either party to answer this question. Guest guest
Hey, Mike! I like your passion! Frequent visits to your legislators and maybe a field trip to Springfield to make the rounds of other legislators would be a good idea, as long as you are already fired up! It would be even more powerful to organize a small group of like-minded families to join you...When legislators start counting the number of voters who are visiting them, greater numbers do matter. Also, if you find someone you are at least ok supporting, offering help with their campaign by writing letters, knocking on doors, etc...will help solidify your relationship and it will indicate that the relationship with you and your group is a win-win for them... Good too that you have an agenda and some possible solutions. Thanks, on behalf of all of our families! Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... Guest guest
Have been pushing this program with Rep. , Mussman, Crespo and Sen. Kotowski. Was discouraged from not doing that by my Rep. Mussman. Will talk with Tony auski about Harper, during a meeting tonight at Schaumburg Township. Mike Re: Springfield  Hey, Mike! I like your passion!
