Guest guest
they asked if works and I told them yes and that I send his pay stubs in on a monthly basis. Also, they will be speaking to me, not , I told them if they need to talk to we will need an appointment to come in since he won't be able to be interviewed over the phone. So, quite honestly I'm not sure what they will ask but if they need more than I can provide in answers then I guess we'll need to schedule a time to go in. Guest guest
Maureen, I received that letter a few months ago. I called and the representative did a telephone interview with me. Then I got a letter saying that 5 months, my daughter's assets were over $2000 (which was a repeat from last year as these same 5 months were already resolved). I was asked what the balances in my daughter's accounts were. If they are over a certain amount, SSA will contact the bank for the first day of the month balances. > > Hi, > I'm thinking that there has been discussion regarding this before and I didn't pay close attention because it didn't apply to me at the time. We recently rcvd a letter from SSI to come in /call to review case to see if my son (who has been on SSI about 5 yrs now) is still eligible. > Has anyone been through this before ? any advice ? what to expect ? what to bring with ? Guest guest
SSI does several different types of reviews:  1) Medical Review - When someone is approved for SSI, there is a number input into SSI's computer - this is for how many years they will do a medical review. (Is the claimant still disabled). Everyone gets a medical review date. The number ranges from 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 years from the date of approval or from the date of the last medical review.  2) Update Review - A few months after the official approval of SSI, they do an update - has any information changed.  3) Income/Asset Review - At any time, SSI can initiate a review to check on income (got a job, lost a job, is SSI receiving monthly check stubs...etc...) and/or assets (did the claimant's assets total under $2,000 at all times). If in doubt, SSI has a new form that they will send to the bank. There are many problems with this new form so BE CAREFUL if you get a letter of overpayment or one that may cutt off benefits. Currently, this bank letter does not: - separate accounts of the SSI recipient & their parents so SSI may think that the parents' account is really the adult childs - thus putting them over $2,000 - subtract income received that month from the balance - thus putting them over $2,000  4) Savings Bond Alert Review - From time to time, the SSI worker will receive a report about savings bonds that were purchased or owned or jointly owned or cashed in. Sometimes, these are about savings bonds that were already reported to SSI or ones that they claim to have no knowledge of, or ones that they never had knowledge of.  Hope this helps. ________________________________ From: " sunshinebeaches3@...
