Guest guest
Hi all, and to G Mrozak- Thank you for your response speaking about how you handled things. Seems weird there aren't a good number of others here, but.....maybe: To further clarify my question: My question was more with wanting to know IF AT ALL INCLUDING HIM (the adult child receiving SSI and living in the home), IN HIS SIBLINGS FAFSA (APPLICATION) WITHIN THE COUNT OF " TOTAL NUMBER OF PERSONS IN THE HOUSEHOLD " (TO WHOM I THE PARENT, PROVIDE MORE THAN 50% OF THE FINACIAL SUPPORT FOR) COULD/IF AT ALL, affect my child who recieves SSI's benefits- FROM RECIEVING THE FULL MONTHLY AMOUNT . If our family is one of the 33% of all applications that would randomly be pulled for an " audit " . I guess I do not want to help one child get more federal financial aid and accidentally getting my other childs monthly payment of SSI getting reduced. We all know that many of us in REALITY actually do provide more than 50% of the financial support of our child who gets SSI (when they are still physically living in our home, by paying for child care, specail rec and/ or da programs etc.), BUT, is that what we are supposed to admit to doing for example on something like the FAFSA application of another child, and in regards to the SSA if we were asked. So do I include the adult child getting SSI in the total number in the household to whom I provide more than 50% financial support to?? That is my question or do I leave him out of that count. Maybe one of the benefit experts, would be able to anser this question? Thanks all!
