The some 500,000 people who suffer from cfs have some dispirting news. Last

year, the acting head of the cdc and prevention testifiekd that omore than 17

million had been spent over three years on finding a cure for the

debiltitation disease. /

But, an inspectore generals reprot found that just ten million was used

ofver four years. Some of the rest was shifted into research on measeles,

herpes, and polio. Rep. Porter , head of the hOuse

Appropriations subcommittee that funds the cdc doesnt appreciate dhte bait

and switch tactics. " We consider lying to congress a very serious matter he

tellos our Gry Cohen. " If the cdc thinks there is a better way to spend the

money, they should tell us, not lie to us. The cdc has promised no more

games.

My comment. : i thought i read something else that close to 23 million

had been appropiated by congress and only ten million spent.???
