Guest guest
hi all,CHristie, i have osteopenia which is a step below osteoporosis and also thought too young to get this too. i am on hormone replacement therapy and on 1200 mg chondroitin sulfate, 3oomg collodial calcium,(supposed to be equal to 1500 mg calcium suppliments) and 15oo mg glucosamine sulfate daily.(have to use indiviual ones versus all toeghter due to reactions to other substances found in comonly bought suppliemnts for the bone which are all toeghter often with other substances.) usually take two of each capsule in am and one of each capsule in pm. CHristie much thanx for sharing, making me rethink maybe should try to add fosomax (not good for people with reflux and have to sit up one hour after taking) or calcitonin (nasal spray) or evista( very new) in addtion to above. anyone on any of the above could you tell me how you are doing on the above with any improvents in bone density examinatiions.( usually take it yearly) thanx ,ellice
Guest guest
Hi, I asked for fosomax after bone scan and my RHEUM has this herself! She has built up most of her bone mass with fosomax, hrt, etc. I do think anything in spray or patch is better because our gut suffers so much from meds taken my mouth. I just got back from ER again and still am bleeding from small intestine and some meds are still out for me. In addition, I have gastritis and ulcers which I had no idea I had and was never tested in hospital stay for h. pylori. I had to ask for it - again. ALso, I just got my in stay hospital records and I have an enlarged kidney, which no one told me about, so I asked AGAIN in ER and gastro tonight. GASTRO said kidneys weren't his field and ER cod said I should have been informed! Because of things like this, I am terrified of hospitals and I may have to have major GI surgery!! I know this is a bit beyond the scope of list, but as chronically ill, I think we need to keep each other informed of our experiences of what CAN go on in hospitals and with DR's; our lives could depend on our own knowledge!! And if I have general anestheia, I'll just pray hard!! Or have a nurse friend with me - even better. Thanks for listening, CHristie tab@...
