Guest guest
Hi Ann, I saw your earlier question about swollen glands, but didn't have much to offer. Then I thought that the one thing that DID help my chronically sore neck/chin glands was the famous lemon/olive oil drink. While I take that, I get NO swollen or sore glands. You could give it a try if you haven't already, it is one thng that is highly unlikely to harm you! In case you haven't seen it (sorry I forget who knows what) the essence of the drink is to blend half a large lemon or a whole small one, including skin, with 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and some other fruit like banana or apple or OJ to make it palatable, and drink once a day. >and going to discuss the various antibiotic regimes w/my MD. I had an >additional question for you if you don't mind....how is the decision being >made as to which specific antibiotic you take (not the antifungals) being >made? For example, the doxycycline.....is your MD culturing blood/sputum or >anything else Ho Ho Ho! I wish. I DREAM about doctors who say " let's test and see what this bug is sensitive to, so we don't have to grope around in the dark, and risk exposing you to unnecessary side effects " .... I really DREAM about one who even sounds as though he/she knows more than I do. No, I took Jadin's protocol along to this very senior and skilled specialist (professor) and said I want to go on this, and he said hmm interesting I don't believe all this Rickettsia stuff, but OK I'll prescribe this and this, and I said " No that one will cause me problems because of this and don't you think this one would be a better bet because of ...that " and he said OK fine. So that's how it was decided. I don't know whether these are good guesses or not, this is why I ask Nelly who at least has spoken with " Mme Rickkettsia " for guidance. BTW I don't necessarily think that Rickettsia is my problem, I am just assuming that I am infected by some recalcitrant bug (by observation I am always MUCH better on abx) and that her protocol might fix it - given that she claims a stupendous success rate and I doubt whether ALL her patients really had Rickettsia as the main problem either. But then I wonder what led Dr Nicholson to his regime, and others to theirs, and why the differences, and whether the differences are related to the bug, or the country, or nothing at all and they are all very approximate guesses. I also do a lot of research, like most of us, to make sure that choices I make or doctors make are sensible, but it is pretty hit an miss what I find and presumably what I don't find. Without knowing anything about you, and with no medical training at all, my suggestions for you and your doc to consider are lemon and olive oil drink first because it can hardly be any risk, and then consider some combination of abx, maybe taken from Jardin's or Nicholson't protocol. You could do worse also than be tested for helicobacter pylori, if positive consider go on one of the regimes for that - these regimes are (as I said last post) very similar to Jadin's protocol and maybe this is not coincidence. It seems also that H Pylori is also a very common bug and very debilitating for some of us. Whatever you do, please keep posting your progress.
