Guest guest
WOW! Another Aussie and just down the road - I live in Newcastle Jeanne. My surgery was 3 & 1/2 weeks ago. I go back to work today & I'm feeling a little nervous as I'm a teacher - if I get the heartburn or spasm while I'm with kids I'm not sure how I will cope - time will tell I guess. Maybe we could get together one day for a soft food lunch lol. Thanks for contacting me Donna -- Re: Reply to Donna Curtis & Kerry Jaeger Hi, Jeanne's my name - welcome to the group! I live in Sydney , am 49,and had a Heller myotomy with dor fundoplication in July 1999. Seems to be agood surgeon here in Sydney who specializes in this surgery and is buildingup quite a bit of experience, and someone else (not sure who, but can findout) who specialises in dilatations. I have just started correspondingwith another achalasiac here in Sydney who contacted me thru this website, but prefers not to post publicly at this stage.Kerry, my heart goes out to your son (and you as caring parent) - what anasty condition to have to cope with as a child. Neither have I heard ofone so young, but the medical literature documents such cases.Donna, the heartburn/ reflux should settle down as your surgical woundsheal and your stomach stretches again to take more volume and complexfoodstuffs. How long post op, where are you etc?Jeanne.
