Guest guest
Went to a new Doctor last week Dr. Benedict Daley at New England Medical Center in Boston. My family thinks I am crazy for trying this but I will see how it works out. My anastomosis of my stomach and esophageal stump in my neck was deformed because of post-op leak. I am going to try serial dilations starting a 42mm and over a six week period ending at 60mm. This will be done without any medications except for that lovely spray for the back of your throat. If this does not work, possible rebuliding of the anastomosis will be in my future. Dr. Daley said, " you went through the hell of an esophagectomy, now you are having more dysphagia, lets end this now so you can get on with your life. " I should be able to live a very happy life with my stomach in my chest he told me. Have a good day to all Joe
Guest guest
Joe, You're the first one I hear refering to the spray for the back of the throat for the dilation. I can still remember what it taste like. That stuff is nasty. It's one of the worse part of the procedure I think (my opinion) I know it's for numbing the throat but do you know the name of the stuff? >From: " robjoe94 " <robjoe94@...> >Reply-achalasia >achalasia >Subject: more dilations >Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2002 15:02:06 -0000 > > Went to a new Doctor last week Dr. Benedict Daley at New England >Medical Center in Boston. > My family thinks I am crazy for trying this but I will see how it >works out.
