Guest guest
, Yes, I've had a few barium swallows done. I'm actually having another one done next month, but this time it's with a biscuit, covered with Barium. This will give them a better idea of what it looks like when actual food goes down. Doctors are thinking that they can't do my surgery lapraroscopically because of the scar tissue from the previous myotomy, but I'm not to sure about that, so I'm definately getting 2nd and 3rd opinions out there. ....and yes, us Achalasians definately go through a lot and I am very thankful that their is a support group(s) out here, cuz' it is such a rare and strange disease. Thanks. -- >>> lindwood@... 12/11/01 03:52PM >>> , Wow, that's very interesting. Are you going to have surgery again soon? Can they do it laparoscopically this time too? I'm curious to know if they did a barium swallow for you the first time before your surgery. My doctor told me cut as high up as he possibly could with the lap, so I hope it was high enough. Geez we go through a lot! I'll bet there's a special section of heaven for achalasians and their families. I think we're all a very special and upbeat group judging by everyone's posts. I am so glad to have found everyone here and am REALLY greatful I found you all BEFORE my surgery. It has been so helpful. Take care, and God Bless you!
