How to swallow easily with achalisia

I have suffered from severe achalisia for several years and only

recently I was advised by my gastroenterologist to drink a sip of a

carbonated beverage before every bite of food. It works like a dream

and they were sure I had to have surgery in order to swallow. I want

to pass this on to everyone who has suffered as I have. I do not

understand why no one ever told me this before. My doctors cannot

believe that I eat everything, steak, roasts, etc. that they said I

should never try to eat. Let me know if you have every tried this.
