Job Description and qualifications:

Duration of the consultancy: approximately 3 months

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and direction of Advisor on Population and

Reproductive Health, the consultant will be responsible for the

following tasks:

1. To develop, pre-test and finalise one or two days training module

for senior staff of hospital and other key hospital staff on the

quality health care of survivor of gender-based violence.

2. To liase and coordinate with all relevant service providers of

survivors of the gender-based violence (e.g., police, NGOs, Ministry

of Health, 5 hospitals) throughout the consultancy period.

3. To plan and supervise logistic preparation of the training module

development and the training in 5 hospitals in East Timor.

4. To undertake field trips for the pre-testing of the training

module and conducting the training.

5. To facilitate the training in 5 hospitals.

6. To supervise and train, if necessary, a national staff who will

assist the trainer.

7. To prepare relevant reports such as report of field visit, minutes

of major meetings, and the final report.

8. Other tasks as required.

Requirements:

1. Post-graduate degree in relevant fields such as public health,

social work, psychology, human rights.

2. Previous professional experience in facilitating a training on

gender-based violence related issues (at least 2 years)

3. Fluency in English, knowledge in Tetum and/or Bahasa will be an

asset.

4. Good understanding of the issue of domestic violence/gender-based

violence. Understanding the issue in the context of East Timor will

be an asset.

5. Having gender and cultural sensitivity of the issues.

6. Good network with government and non-governmental agencies,

working in the field of gender-based violence in East Timor will be

an asset.
