Guest guest
Could you tell me what a medical access card is and how you obtained one? Thanks, Carolyn
Guest guest
It may be different in other states. In Pennsylvania, one must first apply for " welfare " , and then be rejected. We went through the Pennsylvania Health Law Project. Hope this helps. Moir
Guest guest
I would also like to know about the medical access card and what division or government office you apply for this at? I live in Missouri and have not heard of this. But, as I'm learning slowly but surely, there are lots of programs out there for our children but we have to fight to get them. So, if you have any info on how to obtain this I would really appreciate it. We have to ban together to make sure our kids get what they deserve. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, the medical access card is for children, pregnant women, and their families whose family income is within certain limits. If you cannot afford the medical care that you and your children need, fill out the application. Needless to say, the therapy that needs far exceeds our income! And he's not as bad off as some children. The only dx we put on the application for is verbal apraxia and we were approved. He has other issues going on, also. They tell me that this card will also pay for diapers/pullups and any other special things that the child needs. I went thru our local government office to obtain one, or I think you can ask your child's developmental specialist if they can help you get one. They give an 800 # to call for more info - 1-800-842-2020. This card is not just for " welfare " people. My husband works for Lucent Tech - a good job. We were still approved. Good luck! Guest guest
Thanks for the info, it's sounds great. As an aside, please tell your husband that if Lucent goes back up, I will regain my savings in its stock and not need the card. This is true. Thanks, Carolyn
