Job Description and qualifications:

MSF has been supporting the health authorities of Mumbai since July

1999, inthe implementation of the Revised National Tuberculosis

Control Program, accross the city with a particular focus on one pilot

zone (1,5 million population). MSF aims at upgrading the quality of

the microscopy services (introduction of a quality assurance scheme),

strengthening the health structures performances (training and

refresher training for the staff), developing effective communication,

counselling and information/awareness tools(IEC material for staffuse,

patients, and community), assisting the health staff to achieve

effective follow-up of patients (counselling, motivation, retrieval of

patients, partnership with NGOs for other support), involving the

private medical practitioners in the RNTCP (sensitization of PMPs,

setting-up a referral system).

The Project Coordinator will coordinate a team of doctors and social

workers, interact with local health authorities and contribute to

trainings, worshops, development of IEC materials and reporting.

Qualifications:

* Medical Doctor in respiratoty medicine or chest / tuberculosis

medicine with a background and/or experience in Public Health

* Communications skills in english, team spirit, initiative

* Computer literate, hands-on, dynamic

* Commit for 2 years.
