Guest guest
I see you are still awake. I keep missing you. I hope you know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I never expected that your situation would change so quickly. Jo
Guest guest
On behalf of Kathie, I am not sure she has time to respond so, as usual I'll overstep my boundaries. She is going in tomorrow, she had a few issues: She found out her assumed surgeon decided to go on vacation and not tell her. She found out kind of by chance. Then waited for about 5 days for the stand in surgeon to call after a bunch of messages were left. Long story, she would have to wait over 3 weeks to wait for him so she decided to go ahead tomorrow. She is having a first procedure to needle locate the lumps, then she will go under and they will remove the lumps and dilate the esophagus and repair where the lumps were coming from. A lot of things "depend" on what they find. Her surgeon kind of thinks they are likely hernias from the esophagus. The surgeon did reassure her, and although she doesn't always give herself credit, she is VERY knowledgeable about her condition, the options, her other issues and possible interactions. Her other conditions make her case very unusual. She is very disappointed that her surgeon took off unexpectedly and I'm sure he will know in her calm way that he messed up. The lesson for us.... Ask, ask, ask.... WHO is actually doing the main part of the surgery. How much do the residents do? Will you give notice if you can't be there. This new surgeon suggested to her that he did significant work while in surgery with her main surgeon. She isn't sure she would have ever known that her desired surgeon wasn't there. Maybe when she was already in pre op she would have found out. The billing comes from the medical group. I remember my surgeon lifting his shoulders on his scrubs and saying HE! was my surgeon. Now I wonder, although I did grill him a lot, whether being my surgeon meant to him that he was in the room overseeing? So, after watching "Grey's Anatomy, we don't want surgery in Sept or beginnings of the residencies, which I assume begin in the fall. Her daughter is supposed to call me if she finds the time, I'll post something right away. Kathie has double vision, so I think after she spends all day with her business on the computer she is tired of seeing doubles so doesn't make it to this group very often. If I talk to her, I'll give you all warm thoughts. Hopefully she will email or call. I hate to bug her for at least several days. Just so you know, she is as cute as she sounds. She has gorgeous unwrinkled skin and looks much younger than she says she is. I do have pictures I haven't downloaded yet, but I do soooooo hate to have anyone see my overweight self. Everyone else is beautiful.. Ahhhh misery.... I'll cut and paste so you can see her and the others. Actually it was a very cute group, Marilyn is gorgeous and Sandi from No Cal is pretty darn cute as well as her family. is very very tall and handsome. Sandy in So Cal.... off to sign up at Curves.>> Dear sweet Kathie,> I believe it's tomorrow (the 9th) when you go in to Hospital?> All the very best to you. May your prayer vase runneth over (LOL).> You will be in my thoughts. I miss your regular posts from way back when you were so happy and carefree. This year has not been so easy for you.
