Guest guest
Hi Many people even the slp for the school system have commented that 3years 4 months looks like a baby still. He is small for his age, in the 10th percentile. But his face still has the baby look, my guess it is the muscle tone. It is very round & chubby cheeked. He weighs around 28 lbs. but just has that all around round look. We are trying to get in with a dev. ped. I have many questions for him. Not sure if has problems in this area. We have had many bad accidents more than my other boys when they were young. He has knocked out one of his front teeth ( I feel robbed of the beautiful smile) & have had stitches just under the eye. Just seems clumsy. Just don't know about all this stuff, looking for so many answers...... Tammy mom to 3 apraxia Hello everyone, STacy again. The Dev Ped said something else that I have some questions about. He said Graham looked younger than his chronological age. It just struck me funny that he would actually say that. I am not upset or anything I was just wondering if this is common? Just a comment, I have e-mailed my husband some of yall's responses to my last question. He is real impressed with this group. He really has enjoyed all the positive feedback we have recieved. Dr. Lavemann, He also says thanks for the explanation of the diagnosis! That helped him alot. Thanks so much, , Mom to Graham 4.4 apraxic and two other wonderful children
Guest guest
Hi : Sorry about the delay in response - I was on vacation for the last two weeks. The fact that he " looked younger " than his chronologic age to the DP could be one of many things - his physical parameters (height, weight, dentition, etc) or his demeanor (which is influenced by language, both expressive and nonverbal) or his behaviors. We all associate certain behaviors and demeanors with certain age groups (for example " terrible twos " ). Of course, I wasn't there, so I cannot say for sure, but probably this is what the DP was referring to.
