I e- mailed Dr Katz last night His sec called this AM Wanted to know if I wanted an appointment What she read I sound like a good candidate for surgery or did I want to speak to him first I want to speak with him Since Dr Salky did the first Heller And Salky was in the same office at that time He will call tomorrow Got to get all my facts and time line together Any one have Dr Katz ??? Hope this turns out all right

, are you sure that he's saying he might do an

esophagectomy during your next operation? Or might it be that

he'd first do a myotomy, then wait and see how you do before

possibly going to an esophagectomy in a later operation?

If he is really saying that he'll make the decision the next time

you're on the operating table, you might want to ask how he would

decide.

Dr Katz was easy to talk too I had him 8 years ago he removed

my

gallbladder lap ...... Told him I had a ballon delitation in 88

And had a

tear and was in ICU for a week HAd a heller in 99 it did not work

He looked

at the Ba swallow done in 97 before the heller He saw a " shelf "

near the

sphincter so food had to go at a 90 degree angle Claims thats

why it didn't

work Now He wants to try for another Heller doubts it will work

then a

removal of the LES and maybe the " E " What I am trying to say

Don't know

what they are gonna take out till it's all over Does that sound

right

Should i know whats he going to take out before I go into the

Operating

Room?? Hubby is not tooooo happy with that

He doubts if a myotomy will work since the "E" is at an angle but he will try Then he will decide to remove the sphincter If that doesn't look good he will have to take out the "E" All in one operation If If the juncture doesn't look like it will hold If there is tooooo much scar tissue Very vague on what wil make him decide to remove the "E:
