Dear Joy, How much you deserve your name when you write so positively and cheerfully. I am pleased that it went so well for you and hope you will take care of yourself and go easy. It is so sad to have to say goodbye to Grandparents as there are so many memories, but this is the natural way of life and death that we all have to experience and accept. I truly hope that you feel as if you have a new life to yourself now. It is what your Grandmother would have wished for you I am sure. So sad that she cannot see the good results for you. • 2 weeks later...

,

Thanks. It is wonderful eating regular food again. Today I ate

my entire meal at a restaurant. I haven't done that in a very long

time because it used to take me so long to eat that I would give up

before finishing.

Vicki:

Peggy here. As I travel a lot, eating was a real trick for me pre-surgery. All

year long, as I

go to a new community, I have to tell myself, you don't have to take it to go,

you can sit in

a restaurant and eat like normal people! Ain't it great?

It is truly wonderful.

Vicki

P.S. Now I just have to make sure I don't gain tons of weight taking

advantage of my renewed swallowing ability.
