Hi everyone,Not having a great day over here. I was unable to eat the last few days and went in for a cleaning out and it didn't go well. I was awake most of the time because they didn't want me to aspirate anything coming up..it was really traumatic...and I remember thinking the manometry was bad when I had that a few years ago! Surgery is obviously my next step as my balloon dilation in Dec. is no longer effective and botox stopped working a long time ago...the problem is, I am really afraid of getting the surgery although I know I need it. Also, I don't have insurance, which leads me to look into charity care at the local hospital with a surgeon they recommend. My only plus with this is my father knows the hospital administrator so I am sure he will recommend someone good. I had hoped to have time to go through our database of doctors and see who may have been great in my area, but I'm not sure my esophagus will give me enough time to find a new doc right

now.So aside from being a scaredy cat about the surgery, does anyone have advice on prepping for a myotemy, going through it, and living with it? I am heading to the archives now since I know there is plenty of info there. I guess I was just hoping it wouldn't come to surgery. Thanks in advance,
